Celebrating 21 years with a lighthearted summer collection for Spring Summer 2020 called ‘Field Day’, Sphere One recalls the carefree charm of a summer country fair, with egg and spoon races, smelling contests, magician shows and delicious home made treats. Relaxed sweaters and cardigans in featherweight knits are complimented by cool summer cottons with pops of pinks and sherbet shades against a tonal neutral palette. Detailing adds texture and shimmer with metallic yarns and hand stitching throughout. Mindful of zero waste, designer Lucy Downes conjured way of knitting leftover yarn to add simple, fun decoration in the spirit of playful summer festivities.
