Sphere One's Autumn Winter 2023 ‘PLANT’ collection was inspired by the forms and palette of plants. Outward simplicity belies complexity of construction. An organic palette of greens – some bright, some muted; sages; greys; and whites, leave a botanic impression. Clever detailing in luxe velvet and grosgrain and flashes of dense black add drama.

The collection was photographed at DSRT, a project by architect Tom dePaor, who has collaborated with Lucy previously. Several plants from the Sphere One studio were propagated over the years at this location. 

 

 

 

 

 

“The ‘PLANT’ collection further investigates my interest in the science and structure of plants”, said Lucy. “The hyperbolic and ergonomic shapes that occur in nature inform and lend themselves to the technical design process, fabric, and finishes of this collection. I indulged in my favourite palette of green, black, and white, so beautiful in nature and in clothing too.”
