100% Cashmere

For Autumn Winter 2024, Sphere One's 25th year, Lucy went back to the knitting machine to trial some ideas, hoping to create some original knit textures. Several were rejected but the striking pyramid shape that became the spikes of this Rockstar sweater intrigued. Knit up on the centre/outside of the sleeve, the spikes are delightfully soft and springy as one runs a hand over them. From the side viewpoint of the wearer they disappear entirely but from the front and back they make a stunning and dramatic jagged outline, belying their cuddly feel. To amplify the detail the rest of the garment is kept simple - a relaxed fit with tubular round neck, saddle shoulder and stretchy hem and cuffs.
